I'm bored

I'm at work and bored so I thought I would do a quick post. Cathy got onto me for not blogging in forever so I thought I better get with it. I do have a great video clip from the hurricane, but because I am lazy, I haven't gotten around to downloading it. Maybe one day. There really isn't anything interesting going on in my life lately. I did recently go off on one of my college teachers that irritated me. I accused them of not doing their job because they didn't. I don't know what my problem is, I used to never freak out on people, but I cannot stand irresponsibility. I did go to Ethan's bd party you can see the pics and videos on Cathy or Marsha's blog since I never take pictures anymore. Here is a cute picture that Nichole took one day when we went to market street for a girls day out but please excuse my fat arm, it is disgusting. I miss my friends, I never see anyone anymore since everyone (including me) is so busy! Well, hopefully one day I'll get that hurricane video uploaded, until then...tata!

"It is Finished"-Christ

In John 19:30, Christ hangs on the cross dying for our sins and proclaims, "It is finished." Although my feelings cannot in anyway compare to his sacrifice, in some small way I can understand the meaning behind those fateful words. He paid the price and at that moment he knew his work was finished. Unfortunately our hopes for a child just aren't meant to be at this time so all I can say is "It is finished." I am exhausted with the events of the past year and just need a break but I wanted to post this blog to let everyone know who prayed for us that we are eternally grateful. I will continue to stay faithful that God has a plan, but I can no longer take the grief of being let down each month. Some say that once you give up that is when it happens. All I know is that I have to give up to continue to go on. I apologize for not answering the phone this week, I just know everyone was excited to know what happened and I didn't feel like facing it yet.

I probably won't write for a while because on top of everything else, school started this week. I am up to my eyeballs in work and I can't log on to blogger at school. The last thing I want to do is get on the computer once I get home.

Again, thank you so much. I feel so blessed to have such fantastic family and friends.

Thanks!

Thank you so much to everyone who prayed for us last weekend. Our doctor said everything went great so now it is just a waiting game. God never ceases to amaze me with how he constantly surrounds Ryan and I with loving friends and family. I guess sometimes it takes a difficult circumstance to remind us how many people there are supporting us. No matter what happens, I am so humbled and grateful for the people we know and even those we don't know that took the time to pray for us. Please continue praying that the procedure worked and God will bless us with a child soon. Thank you for everything!

We need your prayers...

Okay, so I swore I wouldn't be blabbing my personal life all over the Internet, but I believe in the power of prayer so it is worth it. As many of you know Ryan and I have been trying to conceive for over a year and unfortunately we have been unsuccessful. After much thought and prayer we decided to seek the help of a specialist. So I would ask that you please say a special prayer for us. We are having a "procedure" this Saturday and I know that when you have the help from hundreds of prayer warriors, God can bring forth miraculous things.

Amy's 31st Birthday!

Well yesterday was my 31st birthday (Gag)! I can't believe I am that old already. Ryan and I met up Chris & Nicole and Brad and Misty (along with their entourage of children) at Red Lobster for lunch. We were so excited to be together again. After lunch we went to Nic's for cake and gifts and ended up staying all day! I'm sure they were sick of us, but we just haven't had the opportunity to be together that much this summer. Anyway, I got some awesome gifts that I don't really have pictures of because I didn't bring my camera so just create your own visual images. Here is a small recap of our afternoon (after we opened the gifts):
  • Nichole puckers her lips after tasting the Key-lime cheesecake
  • Luke toots and smiles
  • Brad throws money at Misty after she asks for a new belt (he was trying to be nice?)
  • The girls take turns singing old school rap ("I got five on it", "regulators", "genuine pony", "automobile", "The humpty dance", etc.)
  • The men become so entranced with the storm that they drag out camping chairs and watch the show
  • Chloe accidentally wakes up Luke and she starts crying b/c Brad tells her to look at Nichole's face
  • Misty waddles like a duck/old lady as she leaves
  • Finally, we leave (poor Chris and Nic had to put up with us all day)

After all of that, Ryan and I still had a birthday dinner to attend with my fam. We ate at Giovanni's in Montgomery and had a great time with everyone. After dinner we went to mom's for birthday dump cake. Mmm....mmm, I love all of that butter on the cake!

Overall I had a great birthday and I am happy to report that I successfully gained 3 pounds yesterday! Whoohoo....Not! Thanks to everyone that helped me enjoy my day and I loved all of gifts and time spent with you all.

Here are some pics from the day that I stole off of Nichole's Blog. Eventually I will get better at using my camera......maybe!

Me and Ryan at Red Lobster-I look like crap.
Aww, he will be a great daddy one day!

What's over there dad?

Our Acapulco Trip

The view from Sergio's apartment was beautiful!

We went out on Sergio's 100 foot yacht for the day!

Marsha and I sunbathing on the front of the yacht.

Ryan jumping off the 2nd story of the yacht.

I'm the queen of the world...dang that is one big booty!

Me and Serge acting silly!

Our first night out.

Marsha, Ryan and I went to Acapulco last week for 10 days! We flew into Mexico City and saw a few tourist sites before heading off to Acapulco. We were so lucky to have a local tour guide in our friend Sergio. Marsha and I hadn't seen him in 10 years so it was time to catch up....in style! We had a blast and it will definitely be a vacation to remember!

Amy....a blogger???

Well the virgin blogger is climbing aboard! For the past two years I have been fighting the urge to start a blog. Primarily because I am horrible at keeping up with anything that has to do with the Internet. Just ask my family, I only check my e-mail every 2 weeks or so! It is terrible I know so I am going to try and do better at this blogging thing. NO GUARANTEE'S THOUGH!! If my school district would allow me on the site, I think I would do a great job. Ha, imagine that a teacher who blogs all day. I totally understand why it is blocked! Anyway, there are 3 weeks left until I start school again, so much like my old "My Space" page, this could be an every so often type of addiction. You know, summer, labor day, Columbus day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc... Anyway, here I am and hopefully I'll stay a while!
